My 3 week old son has a horrible rash.I have used so many different types of meds. and it keeps getting worse.
I have used
Zinc Oxide Ointment USP (Doc. Prescribed)
Nystatin ( Doc. Prescribed)
Bag Balm
Johnson’s No more rash
Destinin
Lotrimin
All these meds i have tried i figure at least one of them would work an its keeps getting worse.
I have let him lay naked all day long.I have let his butt soak in warm water.Ive trie warm water and oats.Ive tried everything.Im not sure how he got a rash everytime he poops i change him as soon as he is done everytime he pee’s i change him.So no one can say im not changing him.
Please someone tell me what will take my sons rash away he is so aggravated with the rash and it hurts his little bottom it makes me want to cry becuase my son is in pain. Someone please give me some advice that will actually work.
I’m just guessing here, but there’s a good chance your son is allergic to his diapers–go buy the poor kid a different brand of diapers or what he’s being fed.
Buy chlorine free disposables to test that out and see if that’s the problem. If it is–continue to buy those or switch to cloth. If that’s not the issue, you may need to change his diet.
If he’s breast fed, eliminate dairy from your diet and see if the problem goes away. If he’s bottle fed, change to either a soy formula or alimentum. If the rash keeps getting worse and you’re using the creams, then he’s having an allergic reaction to something.
I’d also make sure to use a free & clear laundry detergent on all of his clothing. No Dreft or Tide or whatever family detergent–has to be dye and perfume free (Dreft, although marketed as a baby detergent, is horrible for babies–it has extremely harsh perfumes in it). Pretty much every major brand has a free and clear detergent these days.
