Whitening Trays ?
I am using a whitening tray right now as we speak, and I have a couple of questions…
1) I just had my teeth cleaned [never had a cavity might I add] and I started using the trays a couple of minutes ago. Is it supposed to burn around the gums?
2) My mouth feels like it is filled with soap. Is this normal?
3) Am I supposed to brush my teeth before or after using the trays?
4) Is it safe to wear my retainer after using the trays, or will I get a line across my teeth?
It’s really bothersome I do feel like I have rabies.
My dentist told me not to whiten my teeth since they are pretty white as it is, and I do not have stains, at all.
1) the gums will be sensitive, a little irritation is normal… to help with that, I suggest getting a prescription from your dentist for fluoride toothpaste.. it will help heal the gums and enamel
2) you need to sit back or lie back on the couch when using the whitening trays so that the saliva runs down your throat, instead of out of your mouth, you don’t want to fill up with spit (vulgar subject)
3) you should floss before whitening and brush and rinse afterwards
4) I would always wear my retainers after whitening, I don’t see a problem with that..perfectly normal
