how many bricks per day on average do brickies lay,i know you are going to give me answers like straight runs, pillars, corners, etc but on an average day say on a small extension what would be the normal amount to lay in a usual day
Depends on the experience of the bricklayers, their access to materials on a ready basis (will they have hod carriers and bricks close at hand?), is the brick free standing or built against an existing wall or two, etc.
Plus, you have to consider the drying time of the morter. I could lay ten layers of brick in a short time on a short run, but if I don’t give the first three or four layers some time to dry out, I will get compression and sag. However, at least bricks are less heavy than cinder blocks, which are usually laid in runs of no more than three high on any given day, to give the morter some time to dry out and hold subsequent layers.
