Has anyone had the HSG dye test for tubal blockage?
I am having that dye test to see if my tubes are blocked tomorrow. I heard that the test is painful – especially when they put the cathader in. Has anyone had this test done? How painful is it? Also has anyone had any success with this test? I have heard that if you have just a slight blockage that the force of the dye being pushed through will unblock the tubes and have heard that some women can conceive right after this test? I’m nervous! Thanks for any info!!!!
I had the test done in December 07. My Dr. said that it wouldn’t hurt, but that I may feel some “pinching”.
I don’t mean to scare you, but I screamed and almost started crying while having the test done. I asked the technicians that were there assisting my Dr. if they’ve had that happen before and they assured me that quite a few women go through that type of pain. I ended up not having any blockage so I can’t respond to the last part of your question. Good luck and I hope you get the results you’re looking for.
