Do you ever get headache and stomachache combos?
I get them occasionally, like now. Last time I had this a couple months ago it ended with my vomiting for the first time in like 4 years. I haven’t consumed alcohol, but I probably did have more than the recommended amount of colby cheese (along with the rest of a fairly healthy dinner.)
I want to know what I can eat or drink to calm this down, I have pure ginger ale in a bottle, and a candle diffuser burning water + rose petal essential oil going.
If the stomach ache is more nausea than actual pain, then it was likely caused by the headache. Headaches, particularly ones caused by dehydration, sun exposure, migraine, fever, etc. tend to carry nausea as a side effect. To get rid of any of these, bring down fevers and treat migraines with aspirin, Tylenol or ibuprofen. Drink lots of cold water to bring down body temperature. This will help even if you don’t have a fever, because it will cause some blood vessel constriction (blood vessel dilation and the resulting increase in pressure, are a common cause of headache)
Turn off the diffuser, and air out the room. Stuffy air, odors and fragrances, warm temperatures and dry room air can all cause headaches, not to mention cause us to feel sleepy and run down.
If the stomach ache is persistent, take some Pepto Bismol. Eat toast and crackers, apple sauce and anything else that’s easy on the stomach. You’ll need to do this for a day or so to see any real improvement.
If you are experiencing pain in the abdomen, your headache is accompanied by a high fever, or the symptoms do not improve within a day or two, you might have an infection or a virus. These may not clear up without medical care, and can get worse before they improve. Under these circumstances you should go to see a doctor.
Most of the time, a headache/ stomach ache combo is just a sign that you didn’t treat your body as good the previous day as you should have. Taking it easy and drinking plenty of fluids will likely cure you.
