Lotion Frag

What will work best for a 5 year old with bad keratosis?

my 5 year old has really bad keratosis. he is covered from head to toe. it is really red and bumpy and sometimes it gets really raw. the pediatrician says he will hopefully out grow it and prescribed him a special lotion. i put it on him once and by the morning it looked as if the lotion ate the skin off of him. it was a nasty and painful mess. i have always used Aveeno frag. free daily moisturizing lotion on both of my kids. but for my son it is just not working anymore. i have also tried eucerin plus but he has got worse. and eucerin is so greasy. what other lotions will work?

I have this on the back of my arms, since I was a teenager. My daughter is almost 4 and has had it on her arms, cheeks and thighs since she was a baby. She itches her forarms and they bleed. It is commom and 1 in 3 people have it on at least the back of their arms. Try the site

www.dermadoctor. com

I got a $34 lotion from them and they also have a body scrub.

Also, her dermatoligist reccomended this:

ONLY Dove sesitive skin soaps (no bubble baths, ect)
lotion after the bath/shower

and these:

AmLactin (might be behind counter at RX but isnt an RX anymore)
Elta
Dermabase
Cetaphil
Vanicream
Nutraderm
Aveena
Acid Mantle Cream
Aquaderm
Nivea

The Lotion I got off dermadoctor was speciaifally for this condioin, nicknamed “Chicken Skin” and has a picture of a chicken on the back. Its a white tube with a purple top. Let me know if you cant find it on the site. I used it 2x per day on her, make sure after a bath/shower thats the most important time to do it, when the skin is still wet. If it bleeds or cracks use some antibiotical cream and banages until it heals.

Good Luck, its such a pain, I feel bad for my daughter, but my dad had it, gave it to me and she has it. She got it the worst of us 3.
