Candy One Of The World’s Greatest Creations!

Candy is one of the most loved indulgences of people the world over. Every Holliday, Birthday, special occasion, daily activity requires some type of candy. Since 1854 when the first box of chocolates is sold to today where tons of candy is sold daily. People the world over can’t get enough of delicious wonderful candy treats.

Since candy has become a national symbol of Holliday’s, people now see certain candy figures as a representation of a particular Holliday. For example, Easter is represented as chocolate bunnies, or sugar peeps in the shapes of Bunnies or ducks, or any egg shaped confection treat. Christmas is represented as chocolate shaped trees or Santa’s, or as boxes of lifesavers that come with a Christmas story. Valentine’s Day which may be the biggest candy Holliday, is represented by heart shaped boxes of chocolates, or chocolate shaped roses. Halloween is represented by candy corn, or kids wondering around their neighborhood collecting mini-pieces of brightly wrapped candy treats. Candy shape treats have become a big part of the Holliday celebration, in many ways little candy shape treats make the Holliday’s a little bit brighter.

Before candy formed the shapes of much loved Holliday representations, it was invented and perfected by famous candy makers. These candy makers invented different type of candy over the course of a hundred plus years. Here is a brief time line of candy history.

· 1926 Milk duds first sold

· 1928 Today’s best selling candy reeses peanut butter cups was first introduced

· 1930 M&M company sold their first snickers bar

· 1931 Tootsie rolls invented

· 1949 Junior mints and smarties invented

· 1958 Candy necklaces made

· 1960 Starbursts invented

· 1976 Jelly bellies made

· 1978 Reeses pieces invented by Hershey’s

· 1979 Twix made

· 1992 Dove introduce dark chocolate bars

So many wonderful people have contributed to other people’s happiness by making candy. From famous companies like M&M, Mars, Hershey’s, and Cadbury, to individual candy makers like Leo Hirsfield, King, Leo, William Luden, and Herman Goeltiz. These candy makers have invented wonderful creations that are sold all over the world and are now incorporated into most people’s everyday lives.

This invention or discovery or candy was one of the world’s greatest creations. Candy is a tasty treat that brings a smile to hundreds of thousands of people’s faces. Candy is one invention that will be around forever, it is much beloved. So anyone who has a sweet tooth run and grab a piece of candy tear off the wrapper and enjoy!
