How can developed countries prevent developing countries from making the same environmental mistakes the developed countries made during their industrial transition? Please use China as one of your examples.
If we create environmentally friendly solutions that are cost effective everyone will use them.
If we solve our problems in a cost effective way everyone will want the “best” solution. The problem is that new technologies have a learning curve. Initially they are not better and cheaper. If they are used then the price will come down. That is why incentives are used- to get the technology into use so the price/performance will improve.
Solar is a good example.
Ethanol is a very, very bad example.
