Mandarin Essential
essential oil – cream or nebulizer?

I wanted to make a blend with some essential oils for sleep ( chamomile, bergamot, clary sage, mandarin and lavender). would it work well in a cream, or should I nebulize it? I would love your input. thanks.
I meant whether a lotion or cream base is better than oil base for absorption through the skin. Either way I wanted to make my own blends. thanks-y
Ahhhh I was answering the wrong question… By nebulizer I mean a special essential oil diffuser. Sorry about the confusion.

I would go with the nebulizer because it will give you a nice, steady controlled “dose”. It’s a misconception that essential oils are absorbed through the skin, so there wouldn’t be any added bonus by using a cream. Plus, if you sleep anything like I do, most of your body will be covered by blankets anyway and you wouldn’t get the best out of the oils. I think the nebulizer is your best bet.

On a side note about your oils, have you tried them separately for sleeping? You could test out each one on a cotton ball placed next to your bed. Personally, bergamot and mandarin would keep me awake thinking, and clary sage would give me crazy dreams!
