can you use cold porcelain in a plaster mold?
Don’t want to buy a kiln. So can i use cold porcelain in a regular ceramic mold or a plaster mold?
Sure, as long as the mold contains no undercuts or close to parallel sides. Regular clay and clay slip shrink as the water is removed, so a form with nearly vertical sides will release, but cold porcelain has to be pressed in to the form and doesn’t shrink much and may lock in the mold.
