Purchase a scented candle for atmosphere, some perfumed oil for the bath water, and a silky lotion for after your bath. Then wrap yourself in a soft robe and continue to relax with a good book or entertaining movie.
Treat yourself to a jewelry set, perhaps a nice pendant with matching earrings. You can buy costume jewelry for just a few dollars. If you shop carefully, you can often find the genuine article for an excellent price. You might consider purchasing a style you did not feel comfortable wearing before your weight loss, such as a very delicate chain or an attention grabbing pendant.
If you still have a way to go on your plan, you might not be ready to invest in new clothing. However, you might consider some nice accessories, such as a silk scarf, leather gloves, or a crystal necklace. These are all items you can continue to enjoy even after you reach your goal.
A day at the spa might be just the reward you need to boost your spirits. A facial, manicure, and massage can sometimes be a powerful incentive to stick with your diet plan. You could also have your hair cut and styled, either at the spa or at your favorite salon.
A handbag can also be an excellent choice. Choose one of the popular hobo bags, which can be found at economical prices or costlier designer styles. A bright fabric tote can add a touch of playful whimsy, or you can choose an organizer to hold all items neatly in place.
Visit the perfume counter at your local department store and select a scent that fills you with a sense of joy. Do not try on more than three or four scents each day, however. Too much input can overwhelm your olfactory glands and make it difficult to truly differentiate between them. If you find one you love, consider purchasing the matching soap, bath powder, and bubble bath.
While shopping for a reward, note other items to use as future treats. Planning your rewards in advance allows you to experience the delights of anticipation. Write down the reward that corresponds to each goal and review it periodically. This can be very helpful if you have a moment of frustration or weakness.
