Can someone translate this crochet pattern?
Ch 4; join with slip st to form a ring.
Rnd 1 (right side): Ch 3(counts as first dc, now and throughout), 2dc in ring, ch 2, (3 dc in ring, ch 2) 3 times;join with slip st to first dc: 12 dc and 4 ch- 2sps.
Rnd 2: slip st in next 2 dc and in next ch-2 so, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp, ch 1, star (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next corner ch-2 sp, ch 1; repeat from star 2 times more; joinwith slip st to first dc, finish off: 24 dc and 8 sps.
I learned to crochet a few months ago and this is a part of a granny square afgan i’m making.
chain four stitches that is loop the yard around the hook of the needle and pull it through four times to make a chain of single stitches. then go to the first stitch you made at the end of the line and put your needle through the stitch and then rap the yarn around the needle and pull it threw. That makes a ring.
Rnd is a round. So round one, 2dc is two double crochet stitches, 3dc is three double crochet stitches. ch 2 means chain two stitches. join with slip stitch means put your needle through the last top stitch and then take yarn over needle hook and pull through that is a joining stitch. Repeat from to means to do the stitches over again or repeat last pattern before it tells you to repeat.
Doesn’t your pattern give you what the abbreviations mean?
