94 nissan altima stripped out screw on injector cap?
I have a nissan altima that I was in the process of putting new injectors on one of the caps that holds the injector down one of the phillps screw heads was completely stripped out. How can i get this screw out? I’ve been replacing with new screws as i go to aviod this I guess the last owner was a little rough..really need some help to get this screw out!
I use a sharp 1/4 inch wide cold chisel and catch the edge of the rounded head and drive it around one or two hits it will move or use a hack saw blade to machine a slot into the head of the bolt. Chisel is more effective. Remember to use silicone grease on the new injector o rings failure to do so you may accidentally cut the o ring and cause more problems if necessary you can remove the entire fuel rail (watch out for the black insulator washers) and work on the bench with 4 intake manifold to injector seals. Just remember while your in there #4 misfire is most likely a Intake manifold gasket not a injector. Listening to the injector click or lack of click I use a long screwdriver pressed up to my ear flap and skull. Carburator cleaner will locate a intake leak just be careful sparying flamable liquit around old spark plug wires. Just spary around the intake manifold to head area.
