on a loaf of bread why do some twist ties twist backwards and how many turns are necessary /?
Are they done by machines or people that do whatever they want.
it is annoying to start turning clockwise only to find that it is anti clockwise to untie
There is no backwards or forwards on a twist-tie. All that matters is that the package is closed, and the twist-tie is cincured about the neck tightly. Twisting it helps lock the twist-tie in place.
How many turns are necessary? The more turns, the stronger the lock. For a loaf of bread, I’d say one full turn (two half-turns with your fingers) is necessary. The rest is superfluous.
