Can I leave out baking powder and vanilla extract with Sugar Cookies?
I wanna make sugar cookies but i don’t have any baking powder. I have corn starch and baking soda, but not anything else. So i was wondering if I can just leave those out, since all it calls for is 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
Well, in baking, its these little things that make all the difference. I can understand (if you are new at baking) why you might think that these small things don’t do much. What you should really do is buy ALL the basics if you want to bake (or plan what recipes you plan to do before hand.) The baking powder makes the cookies rise, and vanilla extract is a key part of flavor, so there’s really no way you can leave those out
